One word... treats.
Poppy would do this in the early stages of me switching her potty area from inside (pads) to outside.
When training her on the pads I only used praise, no treats.
When I tried to make the switch she would do sneaky poops behind the table, so I figured out her favourite treats (cherios) and she ONLY gets them when she potties outside.
She will get the idea when she knows the only way to get her favourite treats is to potty outside. Good luck.
