Thank you all, you have confirmed for me I should purchase akc. I do find sooo many ckc puppys though and they are much cheaper.
Then I was sooo very disappointed because I found a yorkie male, I knew he was "the one" for $1000, akc. I called the breeder, next thing I know the price is $2500 for the same dog for the reg. papers. Her ad never mentioned that, her website never mentioned that, I never said I intended to breed or even gave her that idea, because I really dont know if I will.
I know some breeders charge extra for full registration, but an addtl $1500 for papers.
I am angry

and sad, I really wanted that puppy

but i have to accept that I think there is a reason this happened, maybe that wasnt the puppy for me and something better will come along.
