Both of mine are rescues. I adopted Max (yorkiepoo) about a year and a half ago. He was 4 at the time. Actually I think he chose us. We went to the rescue in hopes of getting another dog that didn't work out. From a crowd of dogs, he jumped in my daughter's lap and the rest is history. He is and always was a lover, he's so sweet, smart and handsome. We love him to pieces. He needed some training..he has had some aggression issues. He's come a long way.
I adopted Lily (yorkie) earlier this year when she was 6 months. After joining yorkietalk when I got Max (yorkiepoo), I fell in love with the breed. She is a puppymill rescue and needed a ton of reassurance and love. She has made tremendous strides in the time she has been with us. When we first got her she was a mess. She walked hovered to the ground, tail tucked in and she wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. Now if you get too close to her face, you better watch out because she'll slip a kiss in
She walks around proudly and even bosses her older brother around some. She is mama's little baby girl..she is so sweet. I've never even heard her growl.
