They seem to stay in well but after one day they create a knot of her hair that needs to be pulled out b/c it can't even be brushed. Any suggestions? Is it the rubber bands or am I doing it too tight? Also, how long do you keep one in at a time? I have been taking them out every night b/c I don't want it to irritate her.
Use a detangler when you are brushing her hair out. Genty spray the knot, and give it time to set before gently brushing it out. Use the side of a slicker brush and start at the end of the strand of hair and work toward the scalp. Working to break the knot. The band may be too tight. I would switch to a smaller band made for topknots, this way you won't have to twist it so tight. Twists should do it and make sure you don't place it directly to the scalp. Come up about a bit.
