I thought maybe it was just the puppy coat, but that's probably the adult hair. Does he mat? That's usually a sure sign of a cotton coat. If you're not having a huge problem with matting, it may be the conditioner. Joey's breeder recommends Biogroom and you can get a free sample of it by emailing the Biogroom Company and asking for a sample of their products. They send several shampoos and their cream rinse/conditioner. Their products are highly concentrated, and you need to add water before using. I've been really happy with it, but Joey's has a silky coat; it doesn't cost anything to try it.
