Friend of mine runs a small dog pup rescue and she is at her compacity! I always thought the concern with animals at Christmas was how many people get or give a dog at Christmas as a gift that was not well thought through. However the real horror of holidays is the number of people who abandon their pets at the beginning and during the holidays to save money...if you are in the Stockton area she needs (in the least) foster homes as well as FOREVER homes...Marilyn of Pup's rescue the link is below...that's my personal rescue but the ASPCS is always a safe choice...so is any other organization in your area! Donations at shelter and rescues are so needed around the holidays! Many people who give year round feel the holiday budget crunch...
(www.facebook.com/pups.rescue) animal shelters are the first expenditure cut to save money.
