I am also a diabetic and Belle started alerting me about 8 months ago. She scratches at me until she has my attention. My doctor says she thinks these dogs smell something in our skin when our blood sugar drops. I always carry a tube of glucose with me where ever I go. I guess Belle is paying me back for the 2 times she started having hypoglycemia when she was so tiny. I gave her some of my glucose. These dogs are so special, I think they develope such a close relation with the people who love them they have certain instincts. They can also be taught to alert of things. I read an article about a Schnauzer that can alert on a persons area that contains cancer cells. My psychic, Sylvia Browne, says dogs can see a blue aura around people who like dogs. If you think about it, dogs do tend to go around people who like them and avoid those that don't. |
