They can mature differently than you think sometimes. I have had some that i was sure would not make 5 lbs even at the small size at 7 or 8 months then end up being 6 lbs and not a fat 6 lbs either.
Also at any weight be it 4 lbs or 7 lbs, one the same weight can look different and may actually look bigger depending on actual structure.
For example, a 4lber with long leg will look bigger than a 4 lber wtih short leg. Leg can also grow after 6 months so one that you thought would be short legged ends up being taller than expected.
That is why this breed can be so difficult to select show stock from litters and why if you want a show dog, don't buy a show dog until it is much closer to a year of age than not. And that is also why I end up spay/neutering one I ran on for show and it suddenly was not at all what I wanted for the show rings by the time it was 11 months a year or even more.
I also don't guarantee size when selling a pup. I can give a best guess but even then was sure one I sold at about 8 or 9 months would not make 5 lbs and she did and went to 6 lbs. |
