I wouldn't feed a Yorkie any less than twice a day. Most would do okay, but it probably isn't optimal. So can you just give raw in the morning and at night and give a small kibble meal midday? As long as they aren't overweight, there really is no reason not to. But a lean dog is definitely healthier than an overweight dog. Getting them to a good weight and trying to maintain that is a good plan (IMO).
Oh and I meant to add, totally agree with this post.

I wish Jackson would eat twice a day but he usually is not interested. We do pre-made raw a few times a week so he gets that 3 mornings of the week and he WILL eat that in the morning but all other days he just eats his dinner between 5-7pm and has one meal of dry/wet and he's always done really well with that schedule, so it shows how all dogs differ. He's 15lbs but very lean and athletic. I much prefer to see a lean dog than an overweight one!
