I think they can get tired of the same old same old. Rotating flavors within the same brand is a good idea; others have 3-4 favorite brands that they rotate between; ensuring a good variety of various different elements,minerals, and vitamins.

I keep Ringo on Blue Buffalo but rotate between Duck and Chicken flavored kibble.

I also put a little canned food on their kibble at night and rotate flavors of that.
