Yes Nancy, rinsing out all the shampoo is soooo important. I read somewhere if you've think you've rinsed enough, then rinse some more!. I rinse really really well behind the ears, through all the facial hairs, through loins, and stomach.

Also when adding shampoo, don't just pour it over the back, instead pour into hand or alternatively onto the side hairs. Use a downward motion of your hands, not a circular one, to avoid entangling the hair. After shampoo the hair should be literally squeaky clean. Always as you say use a conditioner. I use Biogroom Oatmeal condition on head facial furnishings, and other conditioners on main coat. Also play with the dilution rates, to see what works best for your dog's coat, which might change over time, and in different seasons.

Also for show final conditioner rinse out with cool water not hot.
