Both cute but I think they could be mixes, but very strong on the Yorkie. I bet they are more likely to be all yorkie but maybe not well-bred. The "look" is different for a well bred Yorkie. Sometimes I have a problem putting it into words. Now to be fair -- 5 month old Yorkies are in their most awkward stage and can have different looks that make their way around to looking more like the standard after they pass the 1 year mark. But I do not rally think those ages are accurate. I think the female is pretty much an adult and will always look like that. the male may change significantly. Normally your really high quality yorkie is not going to find itself in a shelter, either. But that does not mean they can't be extraordinary pets!

No way would I believe the first pic is only 5 months old. The blue/grey would not be on the back at all at that age, maybe a little on the top of the head only. The second pic may be 5 months (see the very top of his head does have some silver hairs sitcking up as you would expect from that age). He is VERY big for a 5 month old though. Thinking he is going to be well over 10 pounds. But I think he might have a very cute adult look.

I think both are close enough to looking all yorkie to fit the bill if you are looking to rescue a yorkie. Temperment would be my number one trait to decide. How they act with you is hard to tell at the shelter too. If you can ask to take them outside away from the other dogs and as far from the noise and smells that they relate to the shelter Then spend as long as you can letting them warm up to you and see how they act. The dog's personality means the world to me. Good luck! With some good old TLC, I bet either will make a wonderful addtion to your family and what a great thing you!
