This first shot cracks me up. It's such a tense -- and typical -- encounter on the trail among my dogs. You can see Jillie is crouched and poised to pounce on Rusty. Rusty is taking the threat seriously -- because she does this all the time. Eddie, meanwhile, is likely sizing up the situation and figuring that he can sneak by safely once Jillie makes her break to pounce on Rusty. Of course, Eddie isn't nearly as afraid of Jillie as Rusty is. Check out my avatar for how he gets past her on the trail. :O

Rusty is such a good boy. November 4 was his 3-year anniversary in Alaska, and he's been a perfect fit the entire time. He's the best big brother ever.

And here are a couple shots of Jillie romping in the snow today. It was funny, yesterday I didn't realize she'd lost a bootie, and she wasn't nearly having as much fun on the walk. I ended up having to put her in my coat to warm up. But with all four booties on today, she had a blast.
