I think as long as you're comfortable, have trained animals and can financially care for multiples then its okay. Staying within legal limits for your area is also important. The county where I live limits homes to 3 animals (pets).

I had two dogs at once before and it was quite a bit of work. I loved having two but it was tough. Right now, I'm at my limit with one. I don't foresee me going for more.

Hats off to those with multiples and doing it the right way.
