We had a whole thread with tongue pictures at one time -- they are cute that way.
Some reasons some may do it more than others though could be:
--If they are missing a tooth or teeth. This is more common in older dogs.
--Their bite may be off and it is just more comfortable for them to let the tongue hang out. This is not the best for breeding or show, but usually nothing you can do about it. This is probably a very common reason. Yorkies are notorious for teeth problems.
--Sometimes we keep our homes warmer than they like it. Sticking their tongue out cools them off. |
