Yes, we need either an SUV or a truck. For now we're stuck borrowing from other people or asking favors when we need to bring something from the city to our town, plus we definitely need something with 4x4 to get around in the winter. I feel more comfortable driving an SUV than a truck, especially because we need to weigh down the back of a truck in the winter with concrete blocks or sandbags.
