This would upset me too; but it does happen even with humans, like you said. For some reason, they can never get blood out of my veins either. I have a '3 strikes and you're out' policy. Go get someone who can do it. The vet techs should do the same thing ~ if they can't get the blood - then go get help. Sounds like they got it though.
