I do wonder if size does play a part because I had heard before I got Roxie how difficult it is to housebreak a Yorkie. Most of us grew up with dogs and ours have all been larger and I swear it only took a few weeks. Maybe the smaller the bladder, the more often they have to go? Roxie will be a year old in 2 1/2 weeks and weighs 6.5 lbs. She was 95% done by 5 months and has been completely 100% by 7 months. She can hold it a long time though! Interesting thought?
