We have them too and until I saw your post, I tried not think about them too much. I googled to find some coyote deterrents and found this article on the Colorado division of wildlife website and thought it was pretty interesting - it talks about how to make your yard less attractive and some other tips like what to do if confronted by a coyote and some suggestions for protecting pets. One thing that freaks me out is that they can jump and scale a 6' fence. Coyotes also may be infected
with canine distemper, canine parvovirus and sarcoptic mange along with a whole lovely bunch of parasites including heartworms and other worms!
