Have you been diligent about keeping up with her nails? As long as there isn't any concern about it being an over grown nail that is cutting it the pad put her on your lap rub her belly and slowly snip away. Be sure to take protection in the event that if she were to kick herself off you. You wouldn't want her to fall from your lap. Do it slowly with some treats telling her how good she is.
