I would like to grow it out because it looks really weird as it start to grow. Of course the hair is aiming straight for her eyes! I read that you use hair gel to keep it out of the eyes until it grows in.

I actually recommend doing that! Maya used to have really bad tears because of those hairs. Once the groomers cut them out, the tears stopped and she looked very nice and clean. I would keep them short and out of the eyes.
