Well, uni is hard to find in the way it's supposed to be. The best uni in my area is from Catalina Island which is just off the coast of Los Angeles, so it may be hard for you to find. It should be moist, smooth, sweet and nutty. You know like how butter can be infused with garlic? It's like the texture of butter infused with nuts. Just melts in your mouth. It's better plain without soy sauce or wasabi, it just masks its real flavor. YUM!!! But word of warning, it's totally overpriced! Like $12 for a two piece order!!!!

Frog's legs I've only had once and I think they were overcooked, they tasted like rubbery chicken, so I'm waiting for round two.

As for lobster and crab brains, I don't know if it's actually the brains. When you steam whole crab and lobster when you open them up, that creamy greenish stuff, that's what I'm talking about. I'm sure it's some kind of innards or something.

I've never tried lamb fries, BUT I got my dad the 1000 places to see before you die book for Xmas two years ago. he is retired and travels like CRAZY now! He just got back from the great barrier reef! *Super jealous!!!*

Hmm what else... I'm gonna have to say deep fried "chitterlings". Small intestines of pork deep fried and sliced thin, served with garlic infused oyster sauce and ginger. i think all my favs are taiwanese food, it's what I was raised on (as breakfast food!)

MMMM I'm so hungry now!!!

Have you seen the Travel Channel show Bizarre Foods w/ Andrew Zimmern? That's what I wanted this thread to be about... people telling about their cultures "bizarre" food, but you are my only biter it seems... LOL
TX has few authentic Mexican Resturants....they serve mostely TX/Mex....
But, that Lengua is something I just can't stand. My background is from hespanic heritage....my mother would make that with Chili Colorado...I hated it.

I love tripas (intestines) but, there is a proper way of cooking them. Menudo is another favorite of mine.

But, the wierdest thing I ever ate and this was way back in my high school days, at a slumber party......chocolate covered ants. They looked like chocolate covered peanuts....ate them before I knew.....once I was told, I ran to the bathroom and hugged the porcelin bowl.
