No, it does not always stay down. Sometimes you even miss the drop. So, if the thermometer was correct (I have had a problem with that too) you may be having puppies. Now, you get to start watching. I would say within the next couple days. I have also had them drop down to around the temp you are getting and go back up. I did not have puppies for days later...like 5 days! Good luck!
