I had always loved Yorkies. My son has a Black Lab and my husband has a Viszla. I had been looking on the internet, breeders, everything I could find for several weeks.

When my 17 yr old cat Torie died, I was at a loss. I was used to having her on my lap in the evenings just cuddling. Can't do that with a large dog. I was also looking for a "larger" female. I couldn't see putting a 4 lb dog with the large dogs even though they are both gentle.

We actually went to the breeder the week after we lost Torie. I found her on YT!!! She had a female that would most likely be around 8lbs. Her ears did not stand up straight, but that didn't bother me. We drove down to Maryland (3hrs) and spent a good hour and a half with the breeder, and she had weekend company!!! She had planned on keeping her, but could not put in the time. We met the mother and grandmother and she was fostering 2 rescues also. Shadow was 14 weeks old and she climbed right on to my lap and started licking my face. They were surprised, it seems she didn't usually do this.

Needless to say we took her home. She is loving, playful and pretty laid back for a little dog. She slept through the night from the beginning. And she sits with me in the evenings, just to cuddle. She's now almost 6 months and everyone falls in love with her. Even my husband and son with their "real dogs". They tease, but I seem them cuddling her and talking "baby talk". Honestly!

Didn't mean to get so wordy!!
