You must have been horrified when you found Milo. Any idea how it was broken?
I don't have the expertise to even try to answer your question -- you might get a better response if you post this question in the discussion category for sick/injured Yorkies. But I do have questions -- why would your vet urge surgery then say it's not necessary? Did he mean Milo would live without surgery but the leg might not heal normally? Do you know what kind of fracture it is? Simple? Compound? I would want a lot more detail from the vet about exactly what benefit having the surgery would have over splinting.
