Are you giving 1/2 cup each time or splitting it between feedings? Even 1/4 of a cup at a time is probably going to be too much. I have a 2 pounder right now and, although I free feed, she is probably only eating 1/4 cup a day total right now. She is growing, active, and looks good. She just grabs a kibble or two at a time and takes it to the next room to eat. I never see her stay and eat.
I think the dog food bags always say more food than they eat, but not so bad to have it available. Then, when they DO want more, it is there. |
