When she does go make a really big deal out of it and jump up and down with joy - don't pay any attention if the neighbors think you're crazy! Just get it across to her that she has done something great. Do this everytime she goes until she's housebroken and then a little praise will still be appreciated. You might try giving her a tiny treat or even a cheerio, if she likes them, as a potty treat!
I have a fence, but if we are elsewhere she's on a leash and I have found that holding the leash steady and not letting her travel all over will usually get her to potty when I want her to. |
I will have to try that. I live in ga and it's getting rather cold here lately, especially in the early morning and late at night. Is it still ok to take her out to potty?
