It definitely takes time.....Trixie is peepad trained and in the beginning she would use it....tear it up.....miss it......tear it up.....use it and so on. When I would catch her making off the pad in her xpen, I would just tell her no and pick her up and place her on the pad. She did eventually get the idea, but it took a while. (took even longer for poops She is almost 100% now and she is 10 months old. Have patience....it will happen, but I can't say for sure it will ever be perfect
