Oh this is not good. What happens if the 5 week old puppy needs serious medical care. I'm sorry the breeder is having personal issues, however once you take that puppy it's going to be your financial responsibility. If she's going through a lot she's not going to be able to help no matter how good her intentions are.

If taking the dog is the only answer right now I'm hoping that someone with breeding experience can guide you through the first few weeks.
