I agree with the above poster about separating the x pen into the 'potty area' with pads, and the 'living area' with blankies, toys, food, water, etc.

You are going to have two main difficulites right now; one is the age of the puppy, which is way too young to have any potty expectations; and the fact that puppy is alone from 11:30 to 5:00.

I think the above is your best shot at helping her to do what is natural for a dog; to keep their living area clean.
