Just give him time. If he's young, you haven't lost the battle yet. Some are just more shy than others. Some don't enjoy a good cuddle, or they want to on their terms. Mine's a huge cuddle bug and a kisser, but he has taken a dive into the bushes just to avoid people. Now that is a skittish scared little man.
