I make this for Thanksgiving but also other times too. It's easy and good.
APPLE CRUMB CAKE
2 sticks butter 1 teaspoon baking soda
3 egg yolks, beaten 1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sugar 3 cups flour
Mix all the above until it resembles cornmeal. Pat down half the mixture in a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Remove from oven. Spread 2 cans apple pie filling (or any kind you like, cherry, blueberry etc.) over the dough. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top of the filling and bake 30 to 45 minutes at 400 degrees. Cool. Cut into small squares and refrigerate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. |
