Arg! I had a nice long post written up for you. It's all gone.

Anyway, I was going to suggest to add limits for your little one along with the training techniques Nancy and Ellie suggested. For example, my apt is carpeted except for the kitchen and bathroom. Kaji was taught to stay on the carpet and not enter the kitchen. If he can't be in the kitchen, he can't beg for table scraps. As soon as he tried to join us at the table, he would be put right back on the carpet. (my parents were giving him scraps too) He now knows not to enter the kitchen unless invited. He never gets invited during dinner though.

For the licking, what you could do is when she is licking your face, say "No" (firm but not yelling) and promptly place her on the floor. If you and everyone in your family is consistent, she will learn that licking faces is not acceptable behavior.
