Unless you plan to always have that stick there, I wouldn't recommend it. Do you plan to train your dog to do "its business" in the backyard? If so, use that method rather than the pads. We put the pads by the back door and for a few months trained Stomper to go there (give lots of treats and love when your baby does this). Then, once he got good at it and started walking towards the pad, we opened the door and told him to do his business. it worked great. If you do plan to train your dog indoors, there is a spray you can by that attracts the dog to the pad. Always reward. That will help. It takes tons of time but will be worth it if you watch him every second for about 1 month!
