I originally wanted a Maltese, but the Yorkie spunk totally won me over.
It's great that your class schedule will allow you to have plenty of bonding time with your new pup. I got Levi my during my senior year of undergrad, and it was amazing. I had only two classes and my schedule was flexible. It worked perfectly as I had so much free time to spend with him. I cannot imagine a better time to have added a new pup into my life.
I didn't get Levi as a puppy. He was almost two when I got him, and he is close to three now. He came with some unwanted behaviors (he wasn't fully potty-trained, he did not know any basic commands), but we have worked through most of his issues and he is honestly the most perfect dog for me.
