Hi and welcome to YT.
I am currently potty training my 5 1/2 month old.
I crate her at night and when nobody is home and so far she hasnt messed in her crate.
We take her out first thing when she comes out of the crate and before she goes into the crate, everytime she goes outside I say "go pee pee" and she gets a treat when she goes potty outside.
Sometimes she will have an accident but she is still learning, when she has an accident I show her what she has done and say "naughty" then put her straight outside and continue with the "go pee pee" command.
She dosnt make a noise when she needs to go out but I can tell because she starts to get restless e.g. wandering around and sniffing the floor, if I ask her "want pee pee?" she usually runs to the back door.
In time they will learn but it can take a lot of patience. Good luck.
