Right now I can't afford Frontline or Advantix. I was going to start a kennel but have changed my mind, in the meantime I gathered a lot of dogs. It doesn't matter anyways, for some reason Frontline, Advantix and there is another one that starts with a P, they haven't been working at all as far as I can see. I did pick up a collar that worked but it was expensive too and the one I bought someone took off the dog and I can't even find it!!! LOL

I was just reading about the cedar oil. The information seems to be divided, one article says that it seems not to be so much of a flea or tick killer as it is a deterrent. It runs them off but the other article did say that if you sprayed or rubbed the oil on your dog it would kill the fleas because they can't breathe. It is the smell and it causes the pores on the fleas to close because of the smell, not that it is oily. The article also said that it dissolves the case the eggs are in and it kills the pupae.

That's all very well and good but then I read another article that says putting garlic juice in their food would keep the fleas and ticks off. It didn't say how much.

I even looked up eucaliptus oil because if the cedar oil smell will run them off, what would eucaliptus oil do? LOL It is a lot stronger. Hmm, if cedar oil would work, what about pepperment oil? That one might burn though.
