Showing your dogs to their championship demonstrates that your dogs meet the breed standard. It shows commitment (because anyone who shows knows it isn't cheap!) It's pointless to breed pet quality dogs and hope for that 'rare' show dog because when that rare show quality dog is bred, the cycle usually repeats itself and you get more pet quality puppies. Not that there is anything wrong with that - but if your goal is to breed your next show dog, you dont' want to keep producing pet quality puppies. |
Very well said! I am just wanting people to understand the meaning of a Show Dog and why its so important to have good breeding practices.
