The CKC registration should have been a tip-off; if you are referring to the Centennial Kennel Club and not the reputable Canadian Kennel Club, this is not a registry, that I would suggest bothering with. I think they even took their intials to mislead unsuspecting buyers. They will pretty much register anything and take the breeders word for whatever they say the puppies are. I personally believe you should assume that the breeder is a poor one until you do much investigation, and a home check is always needed to ensure you are not supporting a miller. You really have no recourse for "false advertising"; ninety percent of breeders are guilty of that! Let this be a learning experience, and please try to support only those breeders who are breeding for the right reasons, and that's to improve and preserve the breed. Otherwise, you are just supporting a salesperson, and sales people have been know to stretch the truth, that's their job after all, to sell you something! Many breeders "pretend" to care about the breed, but their motives are obvious if you look into their breeding practices. |
