The melt away is a bad idea unless you are giving her the full dose of the strip. They are also bad because they have dyes in them. Hence the lovely red color. The dye free liquid in a syringe shot in the side of her mouth would be best.

As far as starting any dog on a histamine, try putting her on a leash for her outdoor activities first before you add anything. Or a special area just for her, fenced in medium to large area maybe. Rats/mice carry awful diseases that may not affect them at all or may not even affect your little munchkin in a serious way.

But if you want an antihistamine go natural. We don't want chemicals in you bodies and just about anything you buy in a drug store ... well it a chemical. Use Azmira yucca and any of their other aller'g solutions, Amber Technology has a great antihistamine as well.

Additional information, antihistamines are used ONCE AN ALLERGY RESPONSE has already been initiated or to prevent one that will eventually happen. Using allergy remedies will prevent allergy response all together.
