I think in the first year you need to stick with things that will help your pup shed his puppy teeth. The rope type toys are good as well as bully sticks. My guys will do just about anything for a bully stick. For puppies I think the antlers may be a bit too big. But as they grow it may be a good item to try if they can chew thru the bully sticks too quickly.

keep in mind to check all toys regularly and make sure they don't have any sharp edges they could get cut on. Also avoid toys that could rip and be chewed into pieces and swallowed. I have found that with my Yorkie once he gains access to the plastic squeakers thru the fur they have to be removed and thrown away. Also make one of your first taught commands "drop it" I personally think this is more important then sit or stay at the puppy stage. I worked on that very quickly after I dropped a tylenol in the floor and he snapped it up and I screamed to the point I freaked him out and he dropped it. You just never know.
