Sophie had got bit by a tick when she was about 8 months old. And it did leave a hard bump in the location of the tick once it was removed. It stayed for awhile, too. I can't recall how long, but I remember thinking long enough that I was going to call the Vet if it wasn't gone in "x" number of days.
