I don't have a fenced in area at my cottage and too much land to fence...but I've created a dog run. It's fairly simple. You run a line (I used clothes line) from the cottage to a tree about 50 feet away. You have to make sure the line is high enough to walk under comfortably. ..in my case I need to drive the car under it. Then I used a piece of nylon cord and a simple link to let the cord run freely along the line. A clasp on the other end of the cord attaches to Charlee's harness. This way she has a free space to run without getting tangled. A couple of safety precautions. The cord should reach from the line to the dog...but not be too long that she can get her feet or neck caught. I would never use a collar to hook her up in case she harms herself chasing bunnies: ) And I would never leave her unsupervised because of her vulnerability to predators.
