You can use the clippers on the top of the head but use one of those big comb attachments over it. Mine basically get shaved (minus Sam's topknot) when I give them haircuts, then I let them grow out to shaggy over 6-8 weeks and then start over. Loki's head is always short, which I love with his floppy ears
