No, it's because the breeding time for a female is so short. If you're going to Champion her you must do it by the she's 2. Cause once she's bred, the hair gets cut down and then she's only bred until the age of 5. At times skipping a Season for her health and welfare. So, you may only get 4 litters out of a girl if she's a good producer.

Boys you don't have to cut down to stud them.
