i just called and got AKC
i used the AKC number listed on the AKC website and got an AKC employee named Ruth
who explained that, that is not a requirement
i have no seen where all the for sale ads are selling akc puppies say micrcochipped
i purchased one not 6 months ago that was no id'd and one a year ago that was not id'd
the akc employee did mention that she had heard it before but that it was not AKC
