My Levi adores cats, but he is they type of dog that adores every living thing he meets. I got Levi my senior year of undergrad, and my roommate had a 2-year-old female cat, Stella. Stella and Levi were hysterical together. They would "play" chase until Stella got annoyed and jumped wayyy up on something high to Levi. My aunt whom we visit fairly often has 3 cats, and Levi tries to play with all of them, but they are pretty skittish around him as he is just a visitor. Her cats get along fine with her 2 dogs.
I doubt Levi and I will ever live with a cat again (just personal preference, I am much more of a dog person), but I think it will be fine. Levi sure did love his Stella.
