I hope this isn't a dumb question.. There is a woman who comes into my job on occasion (I work in a bar) and she sells flowers, bears etc. Anywho, one night we were talking and she tells me that she sells Yorkies. I've been seeing this woman for about 3yrs now and just recently called her up inquiring about her dogs.
I've read up about Puppy Mills and I def. dont' want to purchase from someone like that. But with her..I don't know. She told me she's been breeding Yorkies for 22yrs. She currently has 12 that she breeds. She told me that at some point or another one of the dogs is having puppies, so she always has them for sale.
She also told me that from time to time she will cross breed her yorkies and another dog (to make a "morkie"). She doesn't charge much for her dogs $500. I asked her about microchipping and she told me, "I dont' do that. If your dog gets lost I dont want it coming back to me"
The only really helpful info she told me about is hypoglycemia. And making sure the new doggie always has food out. I feel like, I know the answer to my question but I'd really like for you all to fill me in.
Again, please no flaming. I so dont' want this to go about this all the wrong way. |
