Default For newbies: What you should know before getting a new yorkie puppy!

Good morning. I wanted to start out an informative thread for everyone who is thinking about getting a yorkie since this is the holiday season. I am very much against puppymills and impulse buys, so hopefully this will help prevent these actions. Many people don't know what to look for, so I figured that we can all post our opinions so people can make a much more informed decision! Let's try not to repeat the other answers though.
Thanks! Here are the 4 questions, experienced people, feel free to add to it!

1.) What to look for in a breeder?
2.) What do I look for in a dog?
3.) What is good about yorkies?
4.) What is bad about yorkies?

1.) Never buy from a petstore, they are most likely puppymill dogs! Try to go on site and see the breeding facility so you know that you are not buying from a Backyard breeder. Make sure it is kept clean and the puppies are well socialized and are not kept in cages all day (they will be even more difficult to potty train later.) If you don't have a good feeling about something, go with your gut instinct. You don't want your money to support unethical treatment of dogs!

2.) A healthy, shiny coat. Clear eyes, no roachback, or long legs. A full set of teeth. If a puppy comes to you, it is a great sign!

3.) Yorkies are more like little human babies than a dog. They love to be held and cuddled. They are more loving than any other dog I have had. I'm trying to keep my answers short, but this one would be the longest! They're also sooooooo cute!

4.) My yorkie does bark a lot. They are a high-maintance dog when it comes to brushing.

Hope this helps all of the newbies out!
