I trained my first Yorkie, Baxter to a litter box (filled with dog litter), because our back yard was not fenced in yet, and my husband and I worked long hours.
Personally, I hate the litter box, litter gets tracked everywhere! It seemed like I could never get Baxter to give it up!
When Cooper came along, he did not take to the litter box, but would go on the pee pads I put under the litter box (on the areas around it). Darcy was already trained to outside, when we got her, and never took on to the pee pads.
Since I am home most of the time now, they enjoy going outside to potty, but the boys will use the pad every now and then. I always make sure one is down when I leave. |
